Members of the Drug Squad and Special Services Unit of the Dominica Police Force announce that they have destroyed 17,256 alleged cannabis plants and 33,000g of alleged cannabis weed. This reportedly took place on March 14, 2016 in the south of the island. According to Police PRO, Sergeant Pelham Jno Baptiste, no arrests have been made so far. Earlier this month, police discovered and destroyed 15,650 fully grown alleged cannabis trees, as well as 60lbs of cured cannabis weed, and 40lbs of cannabis seeds, also in the south of the island.
A further 10,488 fully grown alleged cannabis trees were also uprooted and destroyed in the Morne Prosper Heights last week.
