Dominican Architect urges Government authorities to consider the future when investing in major projects here
Dominican Architect Severin McKenzie is urging Government authorities to consider the future when investing in major projects here.
Speaking to the situation in Plymouth Montserrat, McKenzie says leaders here should use this as an example for future development.
For centuries it had been the only port of entry to the island and was home to most of the Major projects created by the Government, which cost the country million of dollars.
However, Plymouth was abandoned permanently in 1997 after it was burnt and mostly buried by a series of pyroclastic flows and lahars.
McKenzie says this was a waste of money for the government and a loss in resources, as too much of Montserrat’s resources were in one place.
