Meanwhile, according to a forecast from the Dominica Meteorological service "A trough system has been generating unstable weather conditions mainly across the central and southern portions of the island chain, including Dominica. Most intense shower & thunderstorm activity affected mainly the islands south of Dominica, producing flash flooding".
It stated further that this system will continue to produce cloudiness, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly across the central and southern portions of the island chain, during the next 12 to 24 hours.
Moderate seas are expected during the next 12 to 24 hours with waves peaking near 8 feet in northerly swells. Small craft operators and sea bathers are also being advised to exercise caution.
Persons in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks are advised to be vigilant and to exercise caution as a low level trough system is affecting the island at this time.
