Dominica’s First PM Patrick John is out of intensive care at La Meynard Hospital in Martinique1/13/2016 Things appear to be on the up and up for Dominica's First Prime Minister, Patrick John, as he has been moved from the Intensive Care Unit at the La Meynard Hospital in Martinique. According to reports, John was removed from the Cardiology ICU and is now on the cardiology ward where he is being closely monitored by a team of cardiologists and consultants.
John, who is reportedly suffering from a heart-related condition, was airlifted to the Martinique hospital on 7th January 2016, after spending over a month at Dominica’s Princess Margaret Hospital. After hearing of his condition, hundreds of Dominicans both here and abroad contributed in excess of EC$40,000 to the First PM, to assist in being transported to Martinique to receive medical treatment. The Dominica Government later committed to meeting some of the medical expenses of First Prime Minister John.
