Dominica's Prime Minister still seeking to explain the process used to secure $18M to assist farmers
Dominica's PM Roosevelt Skerrit has again sought to clear the air and explain to citizens the process that the Government had to go through to secure $18M to assist farmers with returning to the farmers.
The PM explained the process saying that critics have still distorted information leaving some persons here and abroad to think otherwise.
Mr Skerrit says the circumstances by the government were extraordinary ones.
Meantime, Skerrit says Cabinet played no role in the final approval of the list of farmers who received financial assistance from the 18-million-dollar World Bank Program. Skerrit says Cabinet took a deliberate decision not to be part of the process. His comments come in light of claims by the opposition of Government interference in the matter.
Like the DVRP, Mr Skerrit says any farmer who has concerns with the assistance should take the matter to the Ministry of Agriculture.
