DOWASCO’s PRO asks residents to conserve drinking water in light of a weather system affecting the area
Meanwhile, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of DOWASCO, Edward Registe, is calling on the Dominican public to conserve drinking water, in light of a weather system affecting the area. According to Registe “Due to inclement weather, DOWASCO has issued advisories to the general public that they should try to keep water in storage for domestic use over the next few days, as it is anticipated that heavy rains could affect some vulnerable systems around the island.”
He added that some areas are more vulnerable than others, and the weather systems affecting the area, could have heavy rains that could cause turbidity. The public has the experience of Tropical Storm Erika which negatively impacted many of the country’s systems, so DOWASCO is therefore asking the general public to try to keep some water in storage for domestic use.
