DPP Evelina Baptiste has written to authorities for official confirmation of death of Kurt 'Shabba' James
Director of Public Prosecution Evelina Baptiste says she has written to the relevant authorities, seeking official confirmation on the death of convicted rapist Stephen Trevor James, aka Kurt 'Shabba' James, who was allegedly shot dead in Antigua by police on Sunday 3rd January 2016. Court Reporter Carlisle Jno Baptiste has more.
According to an article on the Antigua Observer on January 4th 2016, "A mid-morning shoot-out, Sunday, between the police and Dominican fugitive Kurt “Shabba” James ended with the suspect being shot dead in his apartment at Carlisle." It is believed that James may have been committing crimes in Antigua and Barbuda since his arrival on the island in recent weeks. Meanwhile, in another article, Antigua's Immigration Chief, Annette Mark, says James may have entered the country illegally as no record was found of his arrival.
