General Secretary of the Dominica Public Service Union (DPSU), Thomas Letang, has confirmed that funds will be made available to former employees of the Public Works Corporation (PWC).
Letang recently stated that the union would not conclude salary negotiations with government, without a commitment that former employees of the Public Works Corporation, will be paid their due redundancy benefits. Speaking on the DPSU's program on Q95fm Radio on Wednesday, he confirmed that the PWC has received a cheque to make these payments.
Twenty employees of the PWC were made redundant in 2015, a move which the Board's Chairman had described as necessary, to assist with its financial challenges, and with restructuring.
