DPSU is fulfilling its promise to take court action against the PWC on behalf of 20 of its employees
The Dominica Public Service Union (DPSU) is pursuing its promise to take court action against the PWC on behalf of its employees.Court documents are now being prepared to make good on that promise.Last year the union had threatened to take the PWC to court following the extended layoff of some 20 employees. General Secretary of the PSU Thomas Letang says the union has a very strong case.
The PWC has confirmed that the employees who were laid-off filed for redundancy, but the corporation is not financially able to pay off these staff. But Letang says there are protocols that should be followed, if a company is not able to meet redundancy payments.
It is alleged that the PWC is also making moves to make further cuts to its staff. Q95 will make every effort to get a confirmation or otherwise of this allegation.
