EDF via its NAO contributes EC $2.5 million farm equipment, fertilizers, water storage tanks, etc to farmers
Dominica’s Agricultural Sector is benefiting from another form of European Development Fund (EDF) contribution, by way of equipment and farming materials, supplied under the Banana Accompanying Measures (BAM), via its National Authorising Office (NAO).
National Authorizing Officer for the European Development Fund, Ms. Carleen Roberts, says five contracts worth approximately EC $2.5 million were signed for delivery of large farm equipment, fertilizers, water storage tanks and more, to farmers of Dominica.
Meantime, Roberts is calling for proper maintenance of the equipment donated.
She is urging the ministry to reiterate the importance of the agricultural sector to farmers and citizens.
Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Johnson Drigo describes the contribution by the NAO as a vital to his Ministry, as Government seeks to improve and upgrade services to the farming community.
