Chief Environmental Health Officer, Anthony Scotland, says certain challenges within the Environmental Health Department have to be dealt with in order to effectively implement some of the guidelines of a recent ServSafe® Training and Certification Programme. The program which came to a close on Wednesday, trained thirty persons within the hotel, restaurant and regulatory sector in certification as Food Safety Managers. Scotland says some of the challenges include lack of equipment, gaps in regulation which needs to be strengthened. Meanwhile Scotland says a better certification program for food producers is also critical.
