One week after the National Mosquito Reduction Campaign, Health & Environment Minister Dr. Kenneth Darroux says the recent national clean-up campaign was very successful.
He thanked Dominicans for participating in the campaign. He said he was heartened by the citizens’ response, adding that the government cannot do it alone, and all must lend a hand.
Darroux reported a total of 400 truckloads, amounting to 800 tonnes of waste material was collected around the island, and brought to the Fond Cole Landfill for disposal. He encourages Dominicans to manage their waste responsibly, to prevent vector borne diseases.
