Minister for the Environment Dr Kenneth Darroux says while Government will continue to play its part in ensuring effective waste management across the island, there needs to be a greater sense of civic responsibility among nationals.
Dr Darroux was responding to a question put to him in relation to waste disposal in Dominica, at a recent Government forum.
The minister says some decisions were recently taken at a cabinet meeting, to restructure the Dominica Solid Waste Management Corporation, in order to make it more sustainable.
He also highlighted some other steps Government has taken to keep the country clean. But he says the country's citizens have to play their part.
