EU National Authorizing Officer calls for support for youth in agriculture as a key to development2/18/2016 The European Union National Authorizing Officer Carleen Roberts says it is of paramount importance that support be given to youth in agriculture as that industry is key to Dominica’s development. Tuesday 5 students of the Dominica State College received funding for tutorials and text books towards their pursuit of an Associate’s Degree in Agriculture. This special scholarship was funded by the European Union under the Banana Accompanying measures (BAM) program. And Roberts says there are countless career paths that successful agriculture graduates can venture into. Meantime, she says youth within the agriculture sector must be innovative and proactive in order to take advantage of the opportunities being provided.
