Executive members of the Dominica Houston Association (DHA) and the Dominica Association of Tampa Bay (DATB) highlighted the strengths and challenges they face in their Associations

Treasurer of the Dominica Houston Association (DHA), Alisha Nation, highlighted the organization's strengths while also pointing out that one of their biggest challenges is that younger people are also migrating away, while we appear to believe that only the elderly are migrating.
She noted that although all Dominicans who want to see our culture continue, it is not just for the older folks or just for “bacchanal”. She says they should get more involved and know that Dominica is so much more.

Meantime, Mrs Doreen Shillingford, President of the Dominica Association of Tampa Bay (DATB), stated that one of their biggest challenges is obtaining funds on a regular basis. When it comes to assisting with emergencies that may arise in Dominica, they don't want to be scrambling for supplies at the last minute.
