Fire & Ambulance Services responded to 39 structural fires of 168 fire calls, & 8673 ambulance calls in 2016
The Dominica Fire & Ambulance Services Division presented their statistics on the work done by the department for the year 2016, and acknowledge that some of the figures are startling.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer Farley Riviere says the Fire & Ambulance Services Division responded to thirty-nine (39) structural fires around the island out of one hundred and sixty-eight (168) fire calls in total.
The Fire and Ambulance Services Division altogether responded to a total of eight thousand, six hundred and seventy-three (8,673) ambulance calls for the year 2016, an increase of one thousand six hundred and thirty-one calls over the year 2015.
