Former IMF Economist Dr. Thomson Fontaine says the number of businesses that have closed under the DLP administration since 2004 is historic and disturbing.
Dr. Fontaine told Q95 that no administration in Dominica has ever experienced this much loss of employment opportunities. Fontaine is of the view that the DLP administration after 17 years in power, appears incapable of expanding the private sector.
Q95’s Hot Seat host Mathias Peltier, read out a long list of businesses which closed down under the DLP administration. To date, it is alleged that well over 50 prominent businesses have shut down operations in Dominica, from 2004 to 2016.
