Former Civil Service Association general secretary Alvin Thomas contends that if Dominica’s voters list is compromised, the outcome of the snap election will surely be compromised as well
Former general secretary of the Civil Service Association (CSA) Alvin Thomas says while the constitution offers the prime minister the right to call an election it, in exercising that prerogative, he has to bring with it the spirit and intent of the law. Thomas asserts that after concluding his readings of the Sir Dennis Byron reform updates, he observes that we have a tyrant in office.
Thomas continued to wonder how a prime minister could hire and pay someone to look into electoral reform only to dissolve the parliament and announce elections all at once. He points out that if the voters list is tainted, the election results will undoubtedly be tainted as well.
