Former Education Officer laments DLP government squandered the Petro Caribe oil deal with Venezuela1/6/2016 “The sweet deals of Petro Caribe will not last forever” says Former assistant chief education officer Arundel Thomas. He believes that it is time for Dominica to return to the drawing board to look at the available sources of alternative energy.
Thomas says Dominica has had numerous and excellent opportunities to explore alternative energy including the Geothermal energy project. He says had the Petro Caribe project been handled effectively, it would have produced good results. He further declared that Dominica did not need to depend on fossil fuel as its only source of energy. He contends that the governments focus seems to be directed at some individuals, rather than moving Dominica forward, while ignoring important sources of alternate energy. Clip:
