Former Education Officer laments DLP government squandered the Petro Caribe oil deal with Venezuela1/7/2016 “The sweet deals of Petro Caribe will not last forever” says Former assistant chief education officer Arundel Thomas. He believes it is time for Dominica to return to the drawing board and look at the available sources of alternative energy. Thomas says Dominica has had numerous excellent opportunities to explore alternative energy including the Geothermal energy project.He says had the Petro Caribe project been handled effectively, it would have produced good results. He declared that Dominica did not need to depend on fossil fuel as its only source of energy, and contends that government’s focus seems to be directed at some individuals, and not on moving Dominica forward, while ignoring important sources of alternate energy.
