Former Prime Minister says Mrs. Alix Boyd Knights is not fit to hold the position of Speaker in Parliament

Former Prime Minister Edison James believes that Speaker of the House Mrs. Alix Boyd Knights is not fit to hold the position of Speaker.
 
James noted the recent scenario, when Dominica needed a candidate to hold the honourable office of President and Mrs.  Boyd Knights was one of those nominated, however, shortly after her nomination, thousands of Dominicans both here and abroad expressed their dissatisfaction with the government’s intention to appoint Boyd-Knights as president.
 
The government then shifted their focus to Charles Saverin, who is current Dominica’s President. Mr James stresses that the constitution permits the speaker to hold the office of president, but if the people of Dominica refused to accept Boyd-knights as president of Dominica, then she cannot be speaker of the house.
