Former Prime Minister and Banana Grower, Edison James, believes there has been a complete breakdown in the management of the current Black Sigatoka Spray Program.
Mr. James stressed that the intervals by which the Executive of the BAM Project execute the Spray Program is too long, he says the intervals should be at least once every 28 days on each Farm and not once every 2 months. The Black Sigatoka disease has caused great damage to the banana sector here resulting in the importation of some 40,000 banana plantlets from France.
