PM Roosevelt Skerrit says there are still several challenges being faced by Dominica and other Small Island Developing States, in accessing funds to deal with the effects of climate change.
Skerrit led Dominica's delegation to the recently concluded 22nd conference of the parties COP22, which was held in Marrakesh Morocco.
Known as the international political response to climate change, the high level conference was organized by the UN's Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). According to the UN, the UNFCCC was established in 1994 to reduce green house gas concentrations in the atmosphere, and made the conference of the parties (COP) the supreme governing body of the convention.
The last such meeting COP21 was held in Paris, France in 2015.
The PM addressed one of the challenges at a recent press conference.
Skerrit says Dominica and other Caribbean islands need the funds as of last week.
