MP for the Petite Savanne Constituency Dr Kenneth Darroux is appealing to residents of Petite Savanne, to continue to exercise patience,as the government seeks to relocate displaced residents.
The community was severely affected by TS Erika on August 27, 2015 and residents had to be evacuated from that community which was deemed unsafe.
This year the government of Dominica formerly signed a contract for the building of houses for the resettlement of the people of Petite Savanne who were displaced by TS Erika.
The government reportedly bought about 49.6acres of land in Bellevue Chopin for the resettlement, and said over 2million dollars was paid for that acquisition to resettle the residents.
Dr Darroux says he is optimistic that this year, the people of Petite Savanne will be in their new homes, like the people of Dubique who also had to be relocated.
