Government promises to make over Dominica’s healthcare legislation to complement the new national hospital. That’s according to Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.
Speaking during a visit to the construction site of the hospital on Monday afternoon, the prime minister described some of the legislation for health care as outdated, and said a new framework is required.
Mr Skerrit added that Primary healthcare will also be part of the focus, in efforts to reduce the number of individuals who come to the hospital for medical services.
The new national hospital is funded by the Peoples Republic of China.
