Government has taken a decision to amend the legislation in which the island scholar is chosen.
This was announced by Education Minister Petter St Jean.
During a press conference to announce the country's 2016 island scholar on Monday, the coordinator of the A Level program at the Dominica State College, Henry Volney, called for a review of the law in which the island scholar was chosen.

In response St Jean says he will table an amendment very soon to effect the change.
