As Dominica joins the rest of the world in observing World Glaucoma Week this week, Health Minister, Dr. Kenneth Darroux, says the Government has made tremendous strides in the number of eye services available here. Among these services is performing opportunistic screening for glaucoma at the eye clinics and providing some of the glaucoma medications free of charge in all primary health districts. Dr. Darroux says his Ministry recognises the importance of glaucoma as the leading cause of irreversible blindness and highlights the activities which has been organized as part of this week's observance. World Glaucoma Week is being held under the theme 'Prevent Blindness from Glaucoma; Get Involved!'
