Health Minister offers Condolences on passing of Dr Barrie I. Strafford, pioneer of Dominica’s Ophthalmic Care
Minister of Health Kenneth Darroux offers his condolences on the passing of Dr Barrie I. Strafford.
A pioneer of Dominica’s ophthalmic care, Dr. Strafford passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the age of 87 years.
Dr. Darroux stated that Dr. Strafford was a friend to Dominica, and that he worked tirelessly with local Ophthalmologist Dr. Hazel Shillingford Rickets, to plan the Brenda Strafford eye center, which will be constructed on the grounds of the PMH.
Dominica will be represented at the funeral ceremony of the late Dr. Strafford by Dr. Ricketts and her husband on Friday, May 7, 2016 in Canada.
