Health Ministry PS says a study to identify and assess prevalence and risks of leptospirosis was in the works since 2015
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of health and the environment Helen Royer says a study to assess the prevalence and to identify risks of leptospirosis in Dominica, has been in the works since last year. She insists that it is not as a result of any recently reported cases.
Meantime, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture Harold Guiste says it is important that persons understand the danger being posed by this disease.

The study is being funded by PAHO in the sum of US$15,000 and will be conducted over a 6-month period as the government of Dominica looks at strategies to manage the threat of leptospirosis on the island.
