Health officials in Dominica are finalising a strategy on how to manage the Zika virus.
Although there have been no reports of the virus in Dominica, Martinique and Guyana have confirmed cases in recent time.
The Zika virus is transmitted to humans by mosquitoes.
Chief Environmental Health officer Anthony Scotland says strategies will include surveillance at the ports of entry and public education.
Scotland says several high risk areas have been identified where breeding sites exist.
