The Health, Wellness and New Health Investments Ministry and Minister Dr. Irving McIntyre joined with the entire Nursing Fraternity in celebrating International Nurses Day yesterday May 12.
Health Minister Dr Irving McIntyre says we have witnessed the heroism, dedication and selflessness of our nurses who, during this COVID- 19 pandemic, demonstrated what the true value of nurses to the world is and I must admit, here in our very own homeland Dominica, they have consistently been displaying this high level of dedication to service.
Dr McIntyre said, “I am indeed honored to help mark International Nurses Day to celebrate the people who are part of the backbone of our health care system here in Dominica; the Nurses."
The Health Minister says his ministry is also aware that nurses are key players, change agents and crisis managers in the implementation of strategies to achieve the mandate of the Ministry of Health in Dominica.
He says the Government recognizes the important role that nurses play, together with other health care providers, and further recognizes the importance of safe work environments & adequate health infrastructure that are required in nursing the world to health.
