Jewell George of the St. Martin’s Primary School captured the 2016 Ti Matador title, during a pageant held at the Arawak House of Culture on Saturday evening. Jewell also got awards for Spectacular Creole Wear, Best Pawòl Creole, and Best in Jeepe.
The First runner-up position went to Marci Savarin of the Roosevelt Douglas Primary School, who also took home an award for Best in Art, and Kahanna Blanc of the Grand Bay Primary School won 2nd runner-up. Five primary schools competed in the event, proceeds from which will go towards assisting Shawnelle Walsh, 1st runner-up in the Miss Teen Pageant 2012, in meeting medical costs in Guadeloupe, where she underwent medical treatment in 2015.
