Jolly’s Pharmacy has won two awards at the Annual Caribbean Association of Pharmacists (CAP) convention in Jamaica, firming up its status as an award winning pharmacy, following the success at last year’s Pharmacy Sigma awards.
The annual convention, which is the highlight of CAP calendar of awards, is held in a different member country each year and is attended by regional and internationally bases pharmacist. The 36th annual conference was held July 24th to 31st 2016, where members kept abreast of the latest developments in the pharmaceutical field, and were also exhorted to serve and mobilize their respective country associations towards a more vibrant collective pharmacy movement.
At the gala awards ceremony, Mr. Orrin Jolly, Pharmacist and Assistant Manager of Jolly’s Pharmacy copped the Pharmacist of the Year award, which was given for outstanding contribution to the profession of pharmacy and Caribbean society.
Mr. Jolly said, “It is a reminder of the commitment we have made, and the zeal to make a marked and distinct contribution to the health of Dominicans. I owe it to the reputation of this award to continue my mission; one that continuously imparts the value of pharmacy to improve health care”.
Jolly’s National Clinic (JNC) coordinator and host of Health Vibes, Mr. Carlton Languedoc, took home the Pharmacy Practice Pioneer award, which is conferred upon pharmacists who emphasize the delivery of clinical services and other components of healthcare in their professional practice. Among other criteria, pharmacists should be registered for five or more years, and have worked in the same pharmacy for three years or more.
Mr. Languedoc was also elected to the executive committee within the regional grouping. He was chosen among a much respect cluster of nominees. In accepting the awards, Jolly’s pharmacy thanks its customers for their unwavering support, saying without them, there would be no such honors.”
