Photo credit: Nicole Christian-Durand Facebook Page Alopecia is real, but it's not the end, as your hair does not define who you are. That’s according to Veteran Journalist, News Presenter and Women Empowerment Advocate Nicole Christian-Durand. She was speaking on Wednesday’s Health Vibes program on Q95, on the subject of Alopecia, and her experience with it, as well as on the importance of education on such conditions, where hair comes out often in clumps the size and shape of a quarter. The amount of hair loss is different in everyone. Some people lose it only in a few spots. Others lose a lot. Sometimes, hair grows back but falls out again later. In others, hair grows back for good. There are different forms of this condition. Alopecia Areata is most common in its main form, but there are other more rare types. She encourages the general public to be a little kinder, and open minded towards each other, as a little health education goes a long way.
