Member of Parliament for the St Joseph Constituency, Kelver Darroux, says were it not for the implementation of the climate change adaptation project for Mero, the community would have suffered significant flooding during the passage of TS Erika. On Friday, the Mero demonstration project in Dominica, which is geared toward addressing drainage issues in the community was officially handed over to the government of Dominica. The OECS USAID Climate change project commenced in January 2011 with the signing of the grant agreement. The project seeks to carry out climate change adaptation and actions in the tourism and agriculture sectors.
