Kerwin Prosper’s family have got some justice as Police Superintendent Matthew Cuffy was charged with the murder of Prosper today and was granted bail of EC $150,000
Q95 news has been reliably informed that three Police Officers were supposed to have been charged for the wrongful death of Kerwin Prosper on Monday February 15, 2021, in Police Custody. As a result, Superintendent of Police Mathew Cuffy has been charged for the murder of Kerwin Prosper, with bail at $150,000 dollars.
Now after a High court Judge dismissed an application for Judicial Review filed by three police officers under investigation for the death of Kerwin “Slobby” Prosper, Prosper’s family filed a lawsuit in the High court seeking claims for his death.
Sadiki Devin Joseph and Keyon Cuthbert George – (who are Kerwin’s brothers) - through their attorney Joshua Francis, filed the civil suit on July 14, 2021, against Superintendent of Police Mathew Cuffy, Corporal Bartholomew Nichols and Constable Daniel Ormond and the Attorney General who is the Chief Legal Advisor of the Commonwealth of Dominica and is sued as representing the State pursuant to the State Proceedings Act Chapter 7:80 - making him liable for the actions of the members of the Dominica Police service while they are in the execution of their duties.
