Opposition Leader Lennox Linton says he is overwhelmed by the support and concern of the Dominican public, as Dominicans at home and abroad went above and beyond the call of duty, in raising funds to assist him in the defamation matter involving chartered accountant Kieron Pinard-Byrne, following a judgment by the Privy Council.
Linton announced on Q95’s Hot Seat Yesterday morning, that he had received a total of $83,200, well over the targeted amount of $80,000. But after this announcement, the funds kept rolling in from commitments that had not yet delivered on their pledges, and by day’s end today, the Opposition Leader had collected $100, 463.
Meanwhile, Linton is sending a message to the supporters of those who painted a picture of him as a defamer. He says they have been programmed to buy into these untruths, by the ruling political party.
Linton says he has always been focused on facts, fearlessly speaking against injustice, however this attitude is frowned upon, by those who would rather that no one spoke out in defence of the public interest.
