Regional airline, LIAT confirmed yesterday Wednesday 13th April 2016, that it had accepted the resignation of Chief Executive Office David Evans, effective April 13.
In a brief release, LIAT’s Board of Directors announced that its Director of Finance and ICT, Julie Reifer-Jones, has been appointed as CEO. “The Board of Directors thank Mr. Evans for his service and wishes him every success in his future endeavours,” the release said.
Evans resigned just one year after Antiguan Prime Minister, Gaston Browne, called for his resignation after a plan emerged to collapse LIAT and form a new airline solely owned by Barbados. He had been on the job for about two years in total.
