Local Magistrate recommends that more counsellors be assigned to assist with family court matters2/11/2016 Meanwhile, Magistrate Gloria Augustus also wants to see more counsellors attached either to the welfare division, or the magistrate's court, on a regular basis, to assist with psychological issues within the family court.
Augustus, speaking on Q95's Hot Seat show today, says there is need to provide additional support to both parents and children, in a bid to provide families with the best possible outcomes in family law cases. She says currently, there is too much burden on the magistrate to provide that service. Augustus is of the view that being able to assign counsellors to the families, would help in creating a better environment for the children involved.
