The Dominica Meteorological Service has been monitoring a trough system which is currently producing unstable weather conditions across the area resulting in cloudiness and a few light showers across the island today.
According to Senior Meteorological Officer Marshall Alexander, an increase in shower activity with the possibility of thunderstorms can be expected during the next 24 hours, especially during tonight into tomorrow morning. Showers could become heavy at times with gusty winds. Rainfall values could exceed 2 inches especially in higher elevation. Persons in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks are advised to be vigilant and to exercise caution as the Dominica Met office continues to monitor the situation.
