A relative improvement is expected by tonight into Friday as a trough system affects the island.
The Dominica Meteorological Service says however, breezy conditions will also be evident and this system will continue to produce cloudiness, shower and thunderstorm activity across the central and southern portions of the island chain.
Persons in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks are still being advised to be vigilant and to exercise caution.
Moderate seas are expected during the next 12 to 24 hours with waves peaking near 7.0 feet. Thereafter, a slight increase to peak near 8.0 feet is expected. Small craft operators and sea bathers are being told to exercise caution.
