Sporadic spells of migration, particularly in the area of capacity building, is said to be one of the major challenges facing the nursing service here.
Health Minister, Dr. Kenneth Darroux, says as a result, the Government has spared no effort in investing in the training and development of the nursing staff. According to Dr. Darroux, 100% of nurse educators at the State College and 78% of nursing supervisors are trained at the graduate and undergraduate levels. This he says will facilitate a higher level of basic training in nursing to meet the demands of the health care environment.
