Minister for Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiative Denise Charles reveals that her Ministry recognizes the critical need for training in all areas of the Hospitality Industry in Dominica

​Minister for Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiative Denise Charles reveals that her Ministry recognizes the need for training in the Hospitality Industry. Tourism Awareness Month is celebrated in May of every Year. The aim is to increase awareness of the tourism & hospitality industry's economic, cultural & social contributions to Nature Island Dominica. 
 
Minister Charles addressed the Nation at the beginning of Tourism Awareness Month. She highlighted training as one of the components which needs improvement. She said her ministry recognizes the need for training in all areas of the Hospitality Industry, Charles gave recognition to the Discover Dominica Authority for taking the lead in providing many service providers with critical, technical and Customer service training.

​Charles added that as Dominica is working towards a world class Tourism Destination, a hospitality training institute is critical. She said, while 5-Star infrastructure is being built, the level of service must match these offerings, therefore training must go beyond short term classes.
