Chief Education Officer, Melina Fontaine, states that it is unclear whether or not Tropical Storm Erika has had an effect on this year’s Grade 6 National Assessments results; however she says more analysis will be conducted on the results.
The results announced by the Ministry of Education Monday, said a disappointing 94 scholarships and 100 bursaries were obtained out of the 1080 students who sat the exams. Meanwhile, Education Officer for Measurement and Evaluation, Robert Guiste, said despite the need for further analysis, Roseau Primary School, which opened two months later than other schools in the country as a result of TS Erika, turned out to be one of the top performing schools.
