Ministry of Health says it has moved a step closer to the completion of the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCHF), with the Signing and Handing Over of Phase 3 of the New National Hospital Project

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment says it has moved a step closer to the completion of the Dominica China Friendship Hospital, under the New National Hospital Project.
 
The Hand over Certificate for Phase 3 of the project was signed by representatives of the People’s Republic of China’s Embassy in Dominica and the Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment on Monday January 11, 2021.
 
This completed phase encompasses the #2 Medical Technology Building. This is a two-storey building which houses an eight-bed capacity Intensive Care Unit and the Blood Bank Unit on the first floor, and the Operating Theatre on the second floor. The Operating Theatre has four operating rooms and is also equipped for Telemedicine, a medical service that is being fully embraced by the Ministry.

Meantime, the construction of Phase 6, which is the three floor Administration Teaching Building, has begun and will be completed with the construction of the Amphitheatre or what is referred to as the Auditorium.
