Officials from the Ministry of Trade are raising concerns about what they say is the sale of expired yogurts on the island. Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Reginald Thomas says the issue is posing a major challenge for authorities. He says even while authorities attempt to manage the issue, they are faced with a lot of resistance. Meantime, Thomas says it is important that proper management structures be put in place to ensure leptospirosis does not proliferate into the animal population. He made the remarks at the launching ceremony of a study to assess the prevalence of leptospirosis in Dominica Tuesday. Dr Thomas says his department will conduct all the tests on the samples collected during that study. Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Reginald Thomas
