MP Joshua Francis dissuading politicians from using the Silver Lake fire tragedy to score political points
Roseau South MP Joshua Francis is discouraging politicians from using Monday’s devastating fire which recently occurred in Silver Lake, to score political points.
The fire destroyed two eight-room apartment buildings, which were occupied by nineteen families.
Francis urged all political players to use the opportunity to put the interests and the well-being of the people first, ahead of their own political interests.
Meanwhile, Francis lamented the government’s failure to include him in discussions, in his capacity as the parliamentary representative for the constituency.
He says it is his constitutional right to represent his people, and he feels it would have been appropriate if the prime minister had at least spoken with him on their matter.
