Music Producer suggests local music cater to international audiences to get into international markets
Local Songwriter Cornell Phillip states that in order to get local calypso on the international market one must be prepared to cater to an international audience.
Phillip disagrees with those who believe that calypsos die after the local carnival season is over. He says the calypso season is only one component of the island’s culture. He recalls listening to calypsos year round, and from years past. He explains that what gravitates many to the songs, is the hidden messages in them.
