National Security Minister promises community policing will fix trust issues between public & Police
National Security Minister Rayburn Blackmoore says the much anticipated community policing program will resolve the level of suspicion between the public and the Dominica Police Force.
The community policing program will be officially launched in the Calibishie Community at 3:00 pm today, and Blackmoore says in order for the police to be more efficient, the community must be involved.
Community policing, or community oriented policing is a strategy of policing that focuses on building ties between the police and residents, and also working closely with members of the communities.
Blackmoore says the idea is to look at the most challenging areas in the first instance.
