National Security Minister Rayburn Blackmoore is heightening the rhetoric about the importance of community policing, several years after the DLP got into office in 2000.
A community policing action plan was issued to Blackmoore earlier this month by Police Chief Daniel Carbon, reportedly to create much better relations between the police and the general public. Shortly thereafter, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit revealed that government will approve the implementation of that plan for Dominica. Minister Blackmoore told state owned radio on Friday, Dominica needs to depart from traditional solutions to fighting crime on the island.
